As the country progressively emerges from the lock-down, SAADP wants to ensure that learners and students are not disadvantaged by the disruption caused by COVID-19. Applicants can now take their time as SAADP has decided to extend the deadline for applications.
The new official closing date for 2020 bursary applications for both Grade 12 learners and current Actuarial Science students is Friday, 18 September 2020. However, given the current uncertainties due to Covid-19, SAADP will still accept applications post the official closing date.
In addition to the extension of the deadline, SAADP will for 2020, not require Grade 12 applicants to submit their June exams results as the Department of Basic Education has rescheduled these exams. However, applicants who have received their first-term test results are encouraged to submit them. Current Actuarial Science students may attach their recent academic transcripts.
“Even though late applications will still be accepted, however, we encourage the applicants to be aware of the official closing date and submit in time to allow the smooth running of the screening process by the Selection Committee,” says Mthokozisi Gumede, the Programme Development Manager.
Due to the suspension of non-academic activities in schools, SAADP will not be visiting schools this year for Actuarial Science Roadshows and the recruitment of learners. Interested schools are invited to register their interest by clicking here. SAADP will contact each registered school to arrange a visit in 2021.
