COVID-19: SAADP students’ academic support goes online

With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic; higher education institutions around the world were forced to end face-to-face lectures. This added an immense burden on already straining SAADP students, especially those coming from economically challenged backgrounds.

Nevertheless, SAADP students continued to receive academic support via online and social media platforms. We thank the facilitators and tutors who, despite the circumstances, made themselves available to conduct the following academic support sessions and life-skills workshops:

  • F102 – Life Insurance Principles, conducted by Mr Preshaylen Pillay.
  • F105 – Finance and Investment Principles, conducted by Mr Tshepo Vilakazi.
  • CA1 – Actuarial Risk Management, conducted by Mr Amogelang Kgaladi.
  • Work Readiness Workshop conducted by Ms Deirdre Koopman from Hannover-re.

These sessions are conducted by carefully selected tutors who are drawn from SAADP Alumni and experts from partner organisations. We also want to thank the SAADP students for participating in the online support sessions. We hope that they have been helpful.
