The programme has officially been in existence since 2003 when it started off with a mere 19 students. What prompted its evolvement from idea to commencement, was the need as identified by the  then Chairman of the SAADP Board, Cyril Ramaphosa, for black actuarial skills in the South African economy. This is the driving force behind the programme. As a consequence of dedication to the vision to improve these skills, today there are more than 225 students across the campuses of Wits, UCT and UP receiving support and encouragement in the pursuit of becoming qualified actuaries

Working with our partner universities, SAADP has since produced over 217 Actuarial Science Graduates and 28 Fellows (fully qualified Actuaries). Many of our graduates are at the verge of qualifying.
